Friday Notes 09

What a week! With Taylor starting grad school I found myself starting a whole new regimen to stay on top of work and anticipating his needs. I've found that keeping my at-home work schedule as close to 9-5 as possible really helps me unwind by the end of the day, and not be so attached to my computer once he's home. Here's my gratitude round-up from this week in August:

Happy Birthday, USA!

Happy 4th of July! We are headed to the lake to see my in-laws and get some much needed r & r! What are your plans for the long weekend? Besides eating, drinking, and tanning, I will be finalizing all the last details for a styled shoot on Monday with Lauren! So excited!

Have a wonderful Independence Day and great weekend!

Yum.

The cuteness. I die.

White hot summer night.

Friday Notes 08

Happy weekend! Before we head out of town for our anniversary, I wanted to share what I was grateful for this week and some much needed link love!

Monday
The morning started off with coffee and a life talk with a friend, work and then a trip to Atlanta for meetings and to visit with sweet Sarah before she has her first baby. I got dinner with a couple getting married next May at Brick Store Pub and the fish & chips were uh-mazing. I was grateful for time with co-workers, clients and a potential bride who actually just booked yesterday! 2015 is already shaping up to be one heck of a year.

Tuesday
A final walk through at Foxhall Resort for a summer wedding had me in my car for about 4 hours...but I was so grateful to be on the road listening to my favorite music and trying to memorize as many songs by The SteelDrivers until the concert tonight.

Wednesday
Our three year anniversary was a day of simplicity. The outpouring love from friends and family, near and far, was incredibly encouraging and I felt grateful for the support system we have around us, helping us build the strongest marriage possible.

Thursday
My third trip in a week to Atlanta left me pretty exhausted - but it was still filled with fun. I met a client at Jeni's to discuss Maggie's mad calligraphy skills over ice cream, took a visit to Amy Osaba's new studio at King Plow and then, made the quickest visit to Ikea in the history of Ikea just to pick up a rug for the home office. Ultimately, I was grateful to not sit in traffic for 2+ hours!

Friday
Somehow I overslept this morning which has already thrown my day off. Instead of feeling flustered, I am going to focus on the good - we are leaving for Nashville this afternoon and I am so grateful for our much-anticipated getaway. I hope everyone has a great weekend in store and I look forward to catching up next week.

A song for your weekend.

Sweet pup that reminds me of my Kola.

Let's have a tea towel party!

Emily keeps it real.

Fun straw.

Our house (and my life) could really use a portable record player.

Elegant look for summer nights.

Friday Notes 06

Happy Friday friends! This week was relatively easy breezy when it comes to work and I gave myself a gold star for productivity! I cannot say the same is true for the condition of my house, but that is a never-ending battle. Here are 5 things I am grateful for this week!

Monday
After meeting with a sweet bride and florist to discuss her September wedding at Foxhall I stayed at Starbucks for another 5 hours to be sure I was caught up after taking 4 days off. I was grateful for Green Tea, forgetting about my phone, and deep focus.

Tuesday
It was a bit more bitter than sweet to be back at my part time job after a month off but I can choose to be grateful for extra income and all my weekends off approved.

Wednesday
While a major storm rolled in trees went down all over Athens, including right on campus and in our neighborhood. We even had a cat stuck in a tree right outside our house, that was eventually rescued by it's owners :) Feeling grateful for safety

Thursday
A meeting with a 2015 bride brought Sarah and I to Yeah! Burger for lunch and then over to La Raine's so the bride could pick out her wedding dress- which is nothing short of stunning. Seriously grateful that girls entrust us with such a huge day as their wedding, and let us join them for the special memories of picking out their wedding gown.

Friday
Today is install and rehearsal day for my sweet bride Kim, getting married at a private farm in Alpharetta. The weather is supposed to be nothing short of gorgeous and I can't wait to see her walk down the aisle to this song. Have a great weekend!

Friday Notes 05

Another Friday Notes coming at you on Sunday! I like to think this won't become a habit and I will get back to consistence...but who knows.

Monday
I sent out final wedding timelines and got to visit my sweet friend Mattie at her studio to iron out some final paper goods details. She made a true statement about Mondays feeling like a "trial run" for the rest of the week and they never seem to go as planned. It made me grateful for friends in the industry who can relate to creating your own work schedule.

Tuesday
After participating in Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Day, Maggie and I posted up at Starbucks to do some work. I am such a people person, even if we don't talk for hours, I love not having to work alone. The dogs also got plenty of time to play together in the sun, which led to passing out later. Well, Kola passing out.

Wednesday
I shocked myself by going on a 6 mile run which I haven't done in forever. Seriously, wherever you are in your fitness routine, you can always get up and start over or pick up where you left off. I'm grateful for warmer temps motivating me to get outside and a dog who doesn't mind coming along for the jog.

Thursday
The morning was filled with good work and good conversation. I was happy to get to catch up with one of my bests, Jessica, on her birthday. Later I had a doctors appointment which seems to be much more daunting the older I get. I always feel awful when I can't remember my last "whatever." Can anyone relate? I was grateful to end the day at the CAMP Spring Supper held at Sun in My Belly. Candice, Lauren, Mattie, and I headed to the event together and had the best time meeting and chatting with many amazing creatives like Ginny, Krista, Ashley and Lesley! It was truly a memorable night, especially when we drove 20 minutes out of the way to have Jeni's Splendid Ice Ceams.

Friday
My first rehearsal of the 2014 wedding season took place and it felt great to be back in the swing of coordinating. There's something so special about watching a couple prepare for the first day of their marriage and I never want to lose sight of that focus being what it's all about.

Yesterday was the wedding and to say it was seamless would be an understatement. There is something to be said about beautiful April weather that just makes everything feel perfect. Of course there are always a few hectic moments, but overall it was such a happy day for the bride and groom. And I could never have done it without my two sweet assistants. More pictures to come eventually...

I hope everyone is still enjoying their weekend. We went to Five Bar for brunch today and Taylor had a great baseball game tonight- even hitting a home run!

A song for the start of your week.

Pretty print.

Friday Notes 04

Friday notes and being posted on Sunday if that tells you the kind of week it's been. This was my first week off from my part time job and the freedom is nothing short of amazing. I've been so grateful to just focus on weddings and clients and not try to juggle the usual 60 hour week... A lot of my time has been spent outdoors too, which is good for the soul, bad for the allergies. Yay for sunshine!

Friday Notes 03

I can't decide if this week went by fast or slow so I think I will just tell myself it was the perfect pace and be grateful for another good week. This March weather might be inconsistent- which can definitely affect my mood- but I felt like I did my best to stay consistent with work and relationships and sometimes that's all you can do.

Monday
In the afternoon I met up with Maggie at Hendershot's Coffee to sit and work while she studied for exams. I was so encouraged when later she offered to make dinner at her house- which was deeelish. She also helped me wrap about 80 of these grits packs- bless you Maggie! Only 100 more to go :)

Tuesday
After running errands all over Athens like a mad-woman (coordinating wedding shuttle schedules might be the death of me) I finally got to settle down and enjoy time with T for his birthday. We went over to Banana Republic to pick out some new shirts and a sports coat and then went to dinner. I love how excited he is getting about business school and stepping up his "fashion game." Ha.

Wednesday
A final walk through brought me to The Hill - one of my favorite places in Athens. I have never seen the grass look so green and lush enough you could sleep on it! The day ended with another final-ceremony-timeline meeting, but this one was over margaritas and chips at Taqueira del Sol. So yummy!

Thursday
Although the day started off chilly, by mid-afternoon it was warm enough to sit outside and get work done - which included stamping 350 praline bags. My hand might be sore or bruised but the bags look great and that's all that matters right?! I met up for dinner with Bethany from Epting Events at Pulaski Heights BBQ so we could run through rental install times and I am so grateful to not only have such a trusted resource in the industry, but a great friend too. Have you noticed I plan a lot of meetings around meal time? I mean a girls gotta eat.

Friday
Today I'm working on preparing my PowerSheets (currently 25% off!!!) for April and getting very ambitious with goals. I have a month off from my part-time job which is such a BLESSING as I want to focus all time and energy to make the first 2 weddings of the year great. I keep wondering if I'll be going back to said part-time job...

Tonight kicks off Taylor's Terry College of Business MBA Welcome Weekend and we're going on a Georgia Food Tour! I cannot wait to watch how Taylor interacts with the other students in his program- I will be beaming like a proud little wifey all weekend long. Weather permitting, Lauren and I are going to venture over to the BouleYARD Sale Saturday morning and then do some planning for a photo shoot ;) I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Natalia is headed to Europe! Send her suggestions for a fun-filled trip across the pond.

A song for your weekend.

T and I just started re-watching episodes, so The Office Time Machine could not come at a better time.

Pretty clogs for skirts or shorts.

Concrete planters are a DIY I really want to try for spring.

Friday Notes 02

Remember 5 seconds ago when it was March 1st and now it's March 21st? How does this happen? I am so happy that spring is finally here as many events I have been planning for over a year are right around the corner. My prayer is to not be anxious about anything but to be thankful for the work I get to do. Friday Notes are a recent addition to the blog (inspired by Lesley) and I thought it would be fun to share one thing I'm grateful for from each day of the week:

Monday:
I took a trip to Atlanta with Candice for a final walk thru at the Atlanta History Center. Candice has a bride getting married right in front of the Swan House (any Hunger Games fans geeking out right now?) and despite the rainy day we had a blast driving around the city and finalizing all the ceremony details.

Tuesday:
A custom wedding favor required a trip to Mills Farms where I got to meet THE red mule of Red Mule Grits. Athens is filled with so many talented, sweet and hard working individuals. I love being apart of such a creative community and incorporating personal touches into unique weddings.

Wednesday:
Maggie and I grabbed lunch at Big City Bread Cafe and finally got to catch up since she went on Spring Break. Her friendship was such an unexpected gift at the perfect time and I'm grateful she let me use her house for said wedding favor project :) My day ended at a coffee shop with T, each of us doing work, but it felt good to just be together.

Thursday:
Many hands make light work which could not have been more true yesterday as I assembled 175 bags of said grits with some of the Chancey Charm interns. More on that (and this fun fabric) next week!

Friday:
I am wayyy behind on my Daily Bible readings (by a week! yikes!), but I'm grateful that each day is a new start. I'm also grateful to be done reading Leviticus...Tomorrow we are celebrating Taylor's birthday with friends at one of our favorite spots in town. I hope everyone enjoys their first weekend of spring!

If money were no object - Coclico sandals would be ordered in a heartbeat.

This book seems interestingly good

I want to make a practical magazine holder for the bathroom :)

How am I just learning about Burt's Bees Blemish Stick?!

A two-toned tumblr

Oh how I wish I could attend and learn from the best!

Have a Lovely Weekend

This was a great week! Despite the frigid temps I felt good about work that gone, and some that didn't. I'm getting better at accepting days for their progress, not perfection. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend with sunshine, good food, and great conversation!

Happy Weekend

I can't tell you how good this Friday feels. After working 13 days straight I am considering today a "weekend" as best I can by wrapping up work early so I can tidy up the house and eventually unwind. T and I are going to 5 & 10 tonight for the first time- and we've lived in Athens for almost 7 years! I hope everyone has a bright & fun weekend :)

Weekend Wishes

Wishing everyone one of those weekends where you get done more than you had planned! I've got a little bit of work to pull off this weekend and then enjoying this girl's birthday party. Our outdoor-summer-bash theme might have to be improvised if it stays rainy, but I will just be grateful to be with great friends, enjoying good food. Cheers to that!

Would you go glamping? These yurts look amazing.

I'm experiencing serious beach envy after looking at Jenna's posts this week.

Recent chilly days are getting me excited for fall layers.

We saw this movie the other night. Tay liked it; I was...meh.

Have a Wild Weekend

Good gracious am I glad this week is over! Not to say this week hasn't included some really fun days like going antiquing with my mother in law and out for latin food two nights in a row (here and here). I just had more work than anticipated at my part time job and it left me feeling so ready for vacation next week!

We're taking Taylor's parents to Terrapin tonight and are hoping to end their last night here at Etienne Brasserie so they can try the Athens mule. It's been a little while since I shared some link lovin' so enjoy. I hope everyone has a fun weekend!

An upbeat summer song.

have a rockstar weekend

Hip hip hooray for the weekend! Tonight our church is hosting an all-night prayer as a way to break our 21 day fast (which means this time tomorrow I will be blasting music in the car while eating donuts, on my way to a shopping spree...I'll explain later). Taylor and I will probably take it easy this weekend and try to catch up on cleaning around the house or spending time with friends. I hope everyone stays warm this weekend!

have a cool weekend

Friday is finally here y'all! What do you have in store for your weekend? My mom and sister, Lauren, are coming to Athens tomorrow and I can't wait to catch up over lunch! Lauren is staying over so we are going to work on the highly anticipated kitchen make over.

On the to do list: paint walls, install shelves, install curtains for the back door, dye curtains (ombre style?) for the laundry area and clean out all the crap that has been piling up on my precious counter space. Needless to say, I am putting Lauren to work :) We are also hoping to work on Pinterest projects while watching the UGA vs UF game.

Hope your weekend is super cool.

have a happy weekend

The wedding weekend is finally here! It feels like yesterday I was helping plan an engagement party and now the happy couple are getting married! Today we will experience Athens Food Tours for Candice's bridal lunchen and then tonight's bachelorette festivities include dinner here, karaoke here, drinks here, and dancing here.

Tomorrow morning is the honeymoon shower brunch at my house and then the bridal party will head to Milledgeville for rehearsal and dinner. Sunday the love birds are gettin' hitched and I can't wait to share stories and pictures next week. Happy weekend y'all!

have a girly weekend

Happy Friday y'all! What do you have going on this weekend? Today I am helping with a wedding rehearsal here for work and then enjoying a much needed girls night with Candice, Jordan & Alexandra. Saturday will mostly consist of errands and finishing this project then going to Erin & Blake's reception!

I'm especially happy that the reception involves going back to Marietta and getting to see my family. I'm spoiled to live less than 2 hours from them, but when trips home are few and far between I savor every minute! I hope your weekend is extra girly & enjoy the link love :)

have a relaxing weekend

What do you have in store for your weekend? After this weekend, Taylor won't have to work a weekend for three weeks (hallelujah!) so as sad as I am to not get as much time together this weekend, I know we have some exciting plans in store! I plan to work on some crafts for Candice's wedding and a few around the house.

I hope your Autumn weekend is extra relaxing!

have a sweet weekend

Thank goodness for Friday. Even for a short work week I've felt exhausted and stressed by the endless to-do list. All I can do for now is savor the weekend - and it's packed. Between going home tonight to see my mema & papa and attending a party on Saturday at The Swamp I will be fighting for time to finish up projects for Candice's bridal shower. But it will be great :)

Can't wait to share pictures next week! Enjoy the link love.
