wedding wednesday : part two

As promised, I have some wedding inspiration straight from one of the coolest cities in the country- Austin, Texas. To start off, here is a chic and modern backyard wedding featured on Once Wed:

This street party reception in Hyde Park doesn't just look glamorous- it looks fun! I could easily see Erin doing something a little edgy and off the beaten path. Since the girl could be getting hitched out west, I really hope she incorporates some succulents (and a signature cocktail drink :)

And who could forget The Cream wedding event held in Austin earlier this year? The textiles and colors in this tablescape have a subtle Native American feel.

Erin has always been a free spirit and there's not a doubt in my mind that her & Blake's wedding and reception will emulate that gypsy vibe. Here's one of Erin's favorite weddings captured by the ever-so-talented Max Wanger:

The scenery is simply breathtaking. And I just love the teepee in the background. My favorite ceremonies are the ones that look so natural within the landscape.

Doesn't everyone want their wedding to feel like one big wild and fun family reunion? I wish I had a group shot taken at my wedding! I think it would make every guest feel so special. Maybe I can convince Erin to do so :)

The real question is- who is ready to move to Dunton Hot Springs?? Yeah, me too. But back to what this is really about- Erin and Blake's wedding. No matter the venue or menu or theme it is going to be one heck of a PARTY. I hope Erin has so much fun planning and I can't wait to share aspects of her big day as it all comes together.

xoxo

wedding wednesday : part one

I love sharing about engagements for Wedding Wednesday- especially when they are my friends- and today is no exception. Last week, one of my very best friends, Erin, got engaged in Austin and I am thrilled to share the details!

Erin had no idea what was coming. Blake had been designing the ring for weeks and it was so exciting to know that the night he had been anticipating was finally here. He planned a double date and then pulled Erin away from the group to tell her something special...

Blake shared that said he had been waiting and wanting to show her how much he truly loved her and finally he had a way how...by getting down on one knee and asking her to marry him.

It warms my heart to know Erin is with someone who loves God and her so deeply. I so wish I could have been there to celebrate!

Erin might not be one of those brides-to-be who has been planning her wedding incessantly since she was a girl, but I know her wedding and reception will be fabulous. She and Blake don't have a date or venue nailed down yet, but I'm crossing my fingers they choose an Austin site for their nuptials.

Stay tuned for some Austin-inspired wedding ideas! Until then, best wishes and all the love in the world to the future bride and groom. You make the most beautiful couple!

Chief at four weeks

Yesterday Taylor and I made what could be our last visit to Allen Kennels until we pick him up on April 14th. We knew he'd be bigger, but I couldn't believe how much bigger! After we got home and I looked at pictures from last week I got a little worried that we had played with the wrong pup...but they grow so much in a weeks time it really is hard to tell.

Chief gave us our very first kisses and we loved feeling his little teeth and tongue. I also could not get over his soft and fluffy coat. I think that's why he looks so different.

During our 7 hour ride home from the beach, I read up on more training tips. I am trying not to get overwhelmed with all we will have to do once we take him home. As great of an addition Chief will be to our family, it will definitely impact our marriage and free time. My goal is to remember that we won't be perfect puppy parents, but we will try our hardest to give him a safe, fun, and adventurous life!

P.S. Doesn't he look like a little bear?

a quick hello

We made it back safely from our short vacation to the Gulf Coast. The past two days with my family were so relaxing and fun that I wish we could have stayed longer. While in Alabama I started to re-read this book and saw The Hunger Games (which I might add was awesome). On our way back to Athens, Taylor and I stopped to see Chief for what might be our last visit until we take him home! More on that tomorrow! Hope your Monday has been nice.

xoxo
